In Real Estate there are three types of agency relationships; Seller’s Agency, Buyer’s Agency & Multiple Agency
Sellers Agent: When a real estate brokerage is acting as a “Seller’s agent,” it must do what is best for the Seller of a property. This agency is quite common and entered into when a Seller hires a Realtor to sell their property by signing a Listing Agreement. The Agreement will put into writing the terms of the Listing including items such as length of contract, commission, selling price, and the obligations of both parties. All aspects of a listing agreement are negotiable between the Realtor and the Seller.
